Program

Creative Beginnings' comprehensive, well rounded program is designed to provide families with a quality program that allows children the opportunity to develop mentally, physically, emotionally and socially. Extended day care is available to provide the most positive, nurturing, caring environment for children ages two through seven years.

The program incorporates a balance of active, quiet, physical, creative, manipulative, artistic, musical and learning activities. We believe that self-esteem and self-confidence are enhanced as children learn to make choices in conjunction with a positive, consequence based discipline style. The pre-school environment (room arrangement, schedules, toys and learning materials) focuses on increasing each child's self-motivation, creativity and decision making skills.

An integral part of the educational philosophy of the school is the use of positive reinforcement for behavior management. Corporal punishment and other humiliating or frightening techniques are therefore prohibited. Discipline must not be associated with food, rest, illness or toilet training.

We use positive discipline techniques and logical consequences for correction of misbehavior within the school setting. These effective learning tools teach responsibility and self-control while maintaining student and staff self-esteem. Children who are unable to function within the group setting and/or cause personal injury or harm to other students or staff will be asked to leave the program.

To encourage consistency and in consideration of the needs of the children, the daily schedule is adhered to as strictly as possible. Special activities and field trips will be added at the discretion of the staff. On days of inclement weather an active, indoor, physical development program will be substituted for outdoor play.
